personality evaluation:Reed has always been one of the most charming and polite people out there. Always one to follow etiquette rules, especially with the female population, he knows how to make someone laugh and smile and have a good time. He's hosted many a parties and pulled off successes each and every time, catapulting his social status to higher levels then he though he would ever be. Not that he's one to care about that. Reed is one to just go with whatever floats his boat and not care about what everyone else is doing. What he doesn't realize is that when he's around, what he's doing is usually what everyone else is doing. He isn't one to follow trends religiously but somehow manages to fall in with the crowds without noticing. Many find it unfair he can be so at ease and still end up with what he has, but that's just his luck. He figures that everything happens for a reason, and that he's been through enough ups and downs. Reed just assumes that Perdido has brought around an upswing in his life.
But even with his collected nature, Reed is never very content. Still plagued by what he's done and what happened as a cause, he lives everyday with his mistakes and what he's caused. He never means for anyone to get hurt when he acts on his impulses, but sometimes people do. He regrets just about everything when something goes wrong, and often blames himself for things he shouldn't. Too much guilt has been placed upon him for him to be perfectly happy, and the tension and hatred coming from his family doesn't help him find anything to better his life. For now, he's living day by day and hoping to forget the actions that caused him to be sent here...and sever any ties with friends and family in london.
Reed is always up for any adventure to get him away from his past. Party hopping is one of his main hobbies and he's always spotted having a good time and drinking just enough to satisfy him without inducing a hangover. He's found that raves or just house parties excite him and he spends most of the day focusing on that instead of school. Though he's always had stellar grades, Reed has never really worried about school. It's just never been that important to him, and he never studies and barely finished homework on time. Miraculously, he's always maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA, even when dealing with social obligations as well as just not really paying attention. It's a talent of his, so he says. Whatever gets him through school and in to a decent college works for him.

history essay:He wished there was a way he could go back. Find some world where happily ever afters existed. But he would never find it. Instead he toiled in the world's dark society, subconsciously ruining lives before he realized he couldn't fix it. He couldn't fix anything. That is the story of Reed Hammond.
His childhood started out normal enough. Born to a happy married couple, living in an ordinary home, attending a private school. This was all he had, and all he needed. His parents found him adorable and loved to spoil him with anything and everything, and he had a countless amount of friends. Sure, they didn't share in the luxuries he did, but he accepted them and they, the same. He excelled in school, warmed the hearts of teachers and increased their hopes that one of their students would do something great. Reed always seemed like he would do something great. But that "something great" never happened for him.
It was when he was about to enter middle school that his sister Libby was born. A curious squirming little girl, Reed was entranced by the moment her bright blue eyes peered in to his. He did everything for his little sister, helping his parents out with her as much as he could until she learned to grow and learn by herself. She thought Reed to be the perfect brother, the boy that could do no wrong and loved her. He had helped her grow up, but she could never help him. Not in the ways she wanted to.
By the end of middle school Reed had emerged with a girlfriend. The "love of his life" he told his parents, and they rolled their eyes and laughed. They never realized he would break her. The beautiful french Katrine, with the perfect cheekbones and silky blond tresses that won everyone over. The freckles that dotted her cheeks, the adorable dimple on the corner of her mouth. No one expected her to end up how she is now. To torture Reed so much and convince his family to throw him out. No one thought it would happen. But it did.
It was the middle of freshman year. They were still together, still strong as ever and seemingly in love. They thought everything to be perfect and lovely, and that nothing would break them apart. Hand-in-hand they walked as they entered, snow falling easily through their hair and off their puffy jackets. It seemed as normal as ever, everyone hanging out around the fire drinking apple cider and watching the snow cover the lawns. But something changed in them that night. Neither of them knew what it was, but they soon found themselves pawing at each other's clothes, kissing more fervently and with more passion. They fell carelessly in to the bedroom, and that night they made love to the snow falling and the cackling of friends in the next room. It had seemed like the right thing to do, but neither of them predicted the consequences.
"I'm pregnant" she breathed icily over the phone, her voice distant and poised as if it were all his fault. Shock coursed through him. They hadn't done anything wrong, had they? But everything had gone wrong. She hung up with a forlorn cry that shattered his heart, and he soon found her ripping revenge wherever possible. His family was the first target.
They were upset, distraught, enraged. Whatever negative emotions that could be felt, were felt. Their beautiful baby boy seemed as if he would never do wrong, never allow something so devastating to their reputation and family named happen. But Katrine had twisted them all, made it appear as if she had never wanted to do anything with him that night. Lies, all the lies in the world were spun delicately from her mouth, placed just so and bundled up so no questions could be asked and everything seemed like it went her way. His parents reached the final decision to send him to school as far away as they could, never to see his face again. Everything he loved about London was torn away, stolen by the lips of the one he thought he loved. He never wanted anything to do with her anymore.
But she plagued him. He reached Perdido at the closing of freshman year, and even then she wrote him caustic, miserable letters. Pictures of sonograms, anything to keep his mind on the fact that he had a child that he wanted nothing to do a part of. The breaking point came when the actual child was born, a beautiful baby girl, and her picture was sent to him a few months later. She had his eyes, his hair, his lips. She was beautiful, she was his, and he didn't want her. But then he noticed the background in the picture. Katrine's pouty lips brushing pleasantly with another boy. Startled, Reed tossed the picture in the trash and peered at it for hours as moonlight bathed the room. It was his best friend Katrine's lips rested with, and he had promised to stay with Reed, stay away from her. He had no one left now.
Reed is still at Perdido, still living and breathing, and still trying to forget the reasons he came here.
And the lies that changed his life.
